Warrenton, Virginia, is a town located in Fauquier County, Virginia. It is the county seat. According to the 2010 census, the town had a population of 9,611, up from 6,670 in 2000. The population is projected to reach 10,027 by the year 2019. The town is located near the intersection of U.S. Routes 29 and 211.

Warrenton VA is home to numerous private and public schools. The local public school district is the Mt. Vernon Community Schools, which offers preschool through middle school programs. Residents can also pursue a college degree from James Madison University in nearby Harrisonburg. The city has several public and private schools and colleges. In addition to local public and private schools, the city is also home to the campus of George Washington University.
